Eyeglass Lenses
Sports/Protective Eyewear

Over a thousand eye injuries occur daily in the workplace, and an estimated 1.1 to 2.4 million eye injuries happen a year.  The good news is that simply taking precautions and using protective eyewear can prevent ninety percent of all eye injuries.

Our office can prescribe protective eyewear to protect your eyes at work or at play. Specialty frames and prescription or non-prescription lenses are available for:

•  Basketball
•  Baseball/Softball
•  Football
•  Raquet Sports
•  Work
•  Swimming
•  Skiing
• Riverside Eye Center offers a variety of eyeglass lenses to meet individual vision needs and lifestyles. Some of the available lenses are:

• Transitions ® or Photochromic Lenses that are clear indoors, but darken automatically when exposed to UV light outside.

• Polycarbonate or Trivex Lenses are prescribed for children because of their impact resistance and lightweight.

• High Index Lenses that are thinner and lighter than ordinary lenses

••  Multifocal Lenses correct for near and distance vision (bifocal) or near, middle and distance vision (trifocal).

• Progressive Lenses, also referred to as no line multifocals,  that correct for near, middle and distance vision without the lines of bifocal or trifocal lenses

• Polarized Lenses that reduce glare and provide protection from harmful UV rays.

Sunglasses
Contact Lenses
Sunglasses are not only stylish, but serve as protection for your eyes.  Studies and research continue to demonstrate a relationship between UV-A/UV-B exposure and ocular disease.  In order for sunglasses to provide adequate protection for your eyes, they should:

•  Block out 99 to 100 percent of both UV-A and UV-B radiation;

•  Have lenses perfectly matched in color and free of distortion and imperfection;

•  Have lenses that are gray, green or brown.
Contact lens correction is a  comfortable option for many people requiring vision correction.  Our goal is to provide all of our patients with the most advanced options in the field of contact lenses. We pride ourselves on our ability to find innovative solutions for even our hardest-to-fit patients. We can successfully fit patients with very high prescriptions, chronic allergies, dry eye syndrome, and even those with previously failed contact lens experiences..

We offer a wide range of contact lenses, including disposable, colored, toric lenses for astigmatism, rigid gas permeable (or "hard" lenses), bifocals, and monovision.
